BASIC SALARY: Euros 80000 - 110000 depending on experience (37 hours per week) plus On-Calls.
This job is in an excellent University hospitals and the duties would be
-Provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients with stroke, TIA and suspected cerebrovascular disease
-Contribute to the provision of acute stroke specialist service delivering thrombolysis and other specialist treatments.
-Work with the rest of the clinical and managerial team to support and deliver quality improvements on the Stroke Unit and in the community
-Take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training
-Contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development
-Contribute to the development of clinical quality and effectiveness in other clinical areas where these overlap with developments in stroke
The job will include liaising with and teaching nursing staff, health care assistants, therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team. It will also include teaching medical students rotating through the ward, teaching and appraising Residents on rotation at the Hospital.
You would provide leadership for the management of acute stroke admissions, TIA clinics and medical support to the stroke rehabilitation service. You would also provide medical support to the nurse-led transitional care ward and work closely with colleagues in the Elderly Care Department and Accident and Emergency.
You will have 6 weeks holiday per year plus Public Holidays (8 days in the UK) and 20 days Study Leave (for CPD) usually.
This is full-time permanent contracts (initial 1 year contract) in a well-known NHS (State) hospital near East Midlands airport. This is a very good location for doctors who wish to return frequently to Spain even at weekends with the excellent daily, low-cost flights to and from all main Spanish airports.
The hospital would like to interview candidates this month if possible.
